Eastern Shore weddings are great. There is so much natural beauty surrounding the special day. I had never worked at Matapeake State Park before and I have to say I was impressed! Since i shot this wedding, I’ve taken two families there for portraits…there are so many different parts to the ground. It is gorgeous. It is smack dab in between the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club and Silver Swan. It is a more casual atmosphere but Shaina and Jeff created elegance with the space. They were a great couple who truly enjoyed every every moment of their wedding day. A big shout out to Joanna from Amie Decker Beauty, she did an amazing job with the make up. Beat2Beat kept the dance floor going with some great music. Congratulations to Shaina and Jeff!

Merri and Ryan got married! They got married on the hottest day of the summer but that didn’t stop them from enjoying the day! It was one of our favorite weddings because it included so many of our favorite spots in and around Annapolis. We started with pre-ceremony photos at the Loews Hotel and then headed to the ceremony at St. Mary’s in historic downtown Annapolis. Wow, do I love that church and it is not because I am parishioner there. It is because it is such a gorgeous church with the star painted ceilings, elaborate alter and grand columns! After the ceremony, Merri and Ryan wanted to have some fun in downtown Annapolis so we hit the dock and did some side streets as well. After we all had enough heat, we got in our cool cars and headed over the bay bridge to another one of our favorite spots…The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. As always, the CBBC staff rocked it out. The room looked gorgeous and nothing missed a beat. We were grateful for the beautiful sunset and made sure to capture a few romantic shots for Merri and Ryan to remember. Beautiful couple and a beautiful day!

Jaclyn and Kyle had my favorite kind of wedding day … ‘all about Annapolis’. You can’t get more Annapolis when you wed at the USNA and have your reception at the Marriott Waterfront in the heart of it all! I have said it before and I will say it again, the Naval Academy campus is one of my favorite places to photograph a newly wed couple. There are so many great spots that it never gets old! Kyle and the other officers were great to work with. They really liked to have fun which makes my job more fun. Jaclyn looked gorgeous and I loved her bright blue shoes which showed off her personality! The Marriott staff is great! If you are looking for a place that has a charming waterfront, great photograph opportunities and a staff that knows what they are doing, check out the Marriott waterfront…they rock!! Congratulations to Jaclyn and Kyle … enjoy married life

Anguel and Nataliya are both originally from Bulgaria and are planning a beautiful wedding back in their home country for 2011. But for now, they decided to make it official here in the States, and wanted some photos down in Annapolis. They were such a cool couple and we really hit off. We got some shots that really show off Annapolis, but also the love these two have for each other. Who knows, maybe we’ll have some Bulgarian wedding photos to blog about for next year!

Katy and Matthew’s wedding was truly a Chesapeake Bay wedding with events on both sides of the bay. We started off at Katy’s parents’ home in Grasonville and got some stunning photos on the dock across from their house. As we were finishing the photography with the expansive bay as the background, a jet ski went by and he waved. It was one of the family friends zooming home to get dressed for the event. Then we were off to the other side of the bay for the ceremony, and the beautiful reception at Celebrations at the Bay. This facility has amazing views of the Chesapeake Bay and of course a great dock for more photography. The crew is so helpful and friendly everyone feels welcomed. Katy and Matthew enjoyed the evening with their friends and family and the reception went bumping into the night.

It was great to be involved with another big Mitchell family event. We photographed Becky’s sisters wedding a couple years ago and now it was Becky’s big day! What a great family. They are kind, funny and warm. We are so glad they enjoyed their first experience that they wanted to use our services again. The entire event was at the Baltimore Museum of Art and we were able to use all aspects of the facility to get some amazing photos. Some of Tope’s relatives flew in from Nigeria to attend the wedding and added a cultural flair with their colorful and traditional African attire. You could really see the love Becky and Tope have for each other with their laughter, smiles and tears. We want to congratulate them and wish them all the happiness for years to come!

When Kristen and Eric asked us to photograph their wedding, we were excited. We have worked with a lot of their friends in the past and knew it was going to be a great day. As we expected, it was a fabulous wedding with gorgeous details! Kristen started her day off at the The Willard Hotel. The suite was a great place to capture all the preparations before the ceremony. The lobby at The Willard had some amazing photo opportunities and we took advantage of them as well. The ceremony was held at St Matthew’s Cathedral. It was the perfect romantic setting for Kristen and Eric who are so much in love! The reception took place at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium. WOW! Kristen and Eric went all out. This was an amazing space with beautiful natural light pouring in the grand windows. Kristen and Eric took this amazing space and made it even more amazing by selecting some fabulous vendors to pull it all together. The flowers were designed by Karen Kallmyer and they were out of this world gorgeous! The band, Party on the Moon, kept the dance floor jamming all night long! (An interesting side note, this band performed at President Obama’s Inauguration, Eli Manning’s wedding and Donald Trump’s New Years Eve party!). Finally, we can’t forget Laura Weatherly at Engaging Affairs. She coordinated the big day in DC! We would not have wanted to spend this day with any other couple than Kristen and Eric. A huge congratulations to the high school sweet hearts! Enjoy the photos!

From the minute I met Karla and Dave and found out they were beer aficionados like myself, I knew we were going to bond and get some great photos. And when I found out they were getting married at one of my favorite Eastern Shore locations, the Tilghman Island Inn, I knew the wedding was going to be picturesque and whole lot of fun! Yes, Tilghman Island Inn is waterfront with amazing views, but of all the great qualities of this facility, nothing compares to the fresh seafood and extensive wine list. A truly unique spot for two families to come together and enjoy a wedding. The ceremony took place on the water’s edge and the weather was perfect. Love was in the air and micro brews were at the bar!

What a stylish wedding. Jeff and Inga outdid themselves in every part of the wedding day! Jeff and the boys wore suspenders and fedoras and really gave some character to the groom’s attire. Inga, Inga, Inga was just stunning. With small blonde curls underneath her white birdcage veil, Inga was truly a gorgeous bride. Inga wanted an edgy, cool bouquet and Perkins did not disappoint; the flowers were so cool and different. The reception at Chase Court was so much fun and we got to enjoy it as guests as our associate photographer, Emily Chastain, took over. From the great Lithuanian beer to the band jamming with Jeff’s parents on guitar and keyboard, the wedding was a blast. Thanks Inga and Jeff for choosing us to photograph the day and inviting us to enjoy the celebration. Enjoy the photos!

We had the privilege of photographing Amy and Wayne’s wedding at the Silver Swan Bayside, and it was a gorgeous day on the bay. Amazing blues everywhere - from the water to the sky to the details inside the reception. The couple was really cool and had fun with the photography. With so many great spots to shoot at the Silver Swan, we got tons of bayside images. This is one of my favorite places to shoot, and the staff and food at the Silver Swan are both top notch! The two families of the couple enjoyed each other and the elegant evening that unfolded. Absolute Entertainment set the mood for the event and of course got the dance floor pumping into the night.
